According to M–M equation, at very high values of [S], the initial velocity V_o asymptotically approaches V_max. In practice, however, it is very difficult to accurately assess V_max from direct plots of V_oversus[S] (from hyperbola curve). Only when the graph is linear, we can determine the V_max. Therefore, the M–M equation is algebraically transformed into other forms that are more useful in plotting experimental data or in determining the parameters like V_max and K_m.
