• In a project related to traditional herbal drugs, plant extracts of Asparagus racemosus and Terminalia chebula showed significant immunopotentiating effect while plant extract of Centella asiatica possessed significant memory-enhancing activity.
• A novel process with a marked reduction in the time for the preparation of ‘Asavas’ and ‘Aristas’ using yeast strains instead of the traditionally used flower buds was developed.

The vision of DPRP is to create more industry-institutional alliances with respect to both traditional and conventional medicine, set up more national facilities on pharma informatics, standardization and quality control and evaluation of safety and efficacy of traditional medicines for disorders like atherosclerosis, arthritis, reproductive problems, diabetes, cancer and communicable diseases like hepatitis, tuberculosis, malaria, leishmaniasis, filariasis, leprosy etc.
