CLASSIFICATION

Prostaglandins are classified mainly into two groups shown in Table 4.5:

  • Prostanoids (PG)
  • Leukotrienes (LT)

Prostanoids are further subdivided into three groups:

  • Prostaglandins (PG)
  • Prostacyclins (PGI)
  • Thromboxanes (TX)
