Cyclic acids are fatty acids having a cyclic ring structure containing five carbon atoms. They are unsaturated. Two cyclic acids, hydnocarpic acid and chaulmoogric acids, are of interest because of their presence in chaulmoogric oil, which is used in the treatment of leprosy.
