Mizoram

A land of rolling hills, rivers and lakes, as many as 21 major hill ranges run through the length and breadth of Mizoram. Its forests are tropical wet evergreen, tropical semi-evergreen and montane sub-tropical pine type. Of these the tropical wet evergreen forests are rich in valuable timber. More than 400 ethnomedicinal plants have been recorded in the state of which about 230 species have medicinal value. Out of this, 65 species are categorized as threatened at the state level and 64 species are recorded as new ethnomedicinal plants.
